Abstract

A laboratory study was conducted to evaluate the bond strength of porcelain fused to metal by use of variety of oxidation heat treatment.
The variety of oxidation heat treatment ;
X©û : Degas from 1200F to 1600F(hold one minute) to 1850F(hold three minutes) under full vacuum.
X©ü: Degas from 1200F to 1600F(hold one minute) to 1850F(no hold) under full vacuum.
X©ý: Degas from 1200F to 1600F(hold one minute) to 1850F(hold three minutes) in air and degas from 1200F to 1600F(hold one minute) to 1850F(hold three minutes) under full vacuum.
X©þ: Degas from 1200T to 1600F(hold one minute) to 1850F(hold three minutes) in air Total 40 test samples (each case 10 samples)were constructed.
It is as follows measured of thickness 2.6mm(metal ; l.lmm, porcelain ; 1.5mm), width 10mm, length 30mm(porcelain 12 X 12n-um) and compared maximum bending stress of each test sample through the result of three point bending stress test.
The results obtained in this study were summerized as follows
1. There were significant differences in the bonding strengths between each case of the heat treatment methods.(P<0.01)
2. The data indicated that X©ü and X©ýwere more available than X©ûand X©þ
